Research Tips

Tip #1

  • Having trouble deciding on a topic? Browse Education Week for the latest news in K-12 education. You can access this online by searching under Journals A-Z or browse the print editions on the library's upper level near the Chick-Fil-A entrance.

Tip #2

  • Developing a research question will help you identify keywords to use when searching databases. Additionally, generate a list of synonyms for the keywords you have already identified for more searching options.

Tip #3

  • Use the database's Advanced Search feature to narrow your topic to a specific grade band or student population. For example: testing AND middle school students; technology AND students with disabilities.
