Primary and Secondary Sources Research Assignment

Task 1: Use this well-respected music dictionary, found in the Reference Section, to find your assigned volume.

The dictionary volumes are located here, behind the pillar in Reference.

 

Find your assigned volume number on the spine (in the blue circle).  The alphabet letters on the spine might be covered by a sticker. Go to the title page to discover what entries are included in that volume.  You'll also see the general editor on this page.

 

Choose an entry that is at least 3 pages long and answer the questions on your worksheet.

 

Task 2: Visit the Service Desk in the Library find a reading in Strunk's Source Readings in Music History.
